Entry requirements for Ghana
Visa Status
For information on how to apply for a UK visa, visit the UK Visas website. If you are interested in enrolling in a course, see the How to Apply section for when you need to apply for your visa.
Minimum Qualifications
Entry into Undergraduate Degree programmes
If you are under 21 and wish to apply for direct-entry into an undergraduate honours degree programme (such as BBM or BIT), you will need to meet the College's minimum general entry requirement of three 'A' level passes or the equivalent in Ghana. If you don't meet this requirement you may be asked to enrol in a different programme.
If you are over 21 you are considered a 'mature age' student and will not necessarily be expected to meet the general entry requirement mentioned above. In certain circumstances, the College will admit mature age students with O Level qualifications and work experience, however, you must demonstrate your capacity to undertake degree-level work before we can offer you a place. The College may recommend you complete Higher National Certificate before you start the degree.
Entry into the Postgraduate Degree programme
The Lampeter MBA requires applicants to be at least 21 years of age with an overall pass in a prior undergraduate degree recognised by UK NARIC
English Proficiency
As a UK education institution, all course tuition is taught in English. As a result you are expected to meet the English proficiency requirements for the course you are interested in.
A valid list of programmes that you should be selecting from are:
Business Programmes:
- BABF: Degree Foundation + BA (Hons) Business Management
- BABM: BA (Hons) Business Management
- BABT: BA (Hons) Business Management Year 2 Top-up
- MEP: Masters Entry Programme + Master of Business Administration
- MBA: Master of Business Administration
Information Technology Programmes:
- BITF: Foundation + BA (Hons) in Business Information Technology
- BIT: BA (Hons) in Business Information Technology (BIT)

Note: MBA Entry and English
If you have studied English for the last two years of your education OR you have an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, you may qualify for direct entry into the MBA programme (click here for other MBA entry requirements).
If your IELTS score is only 6.0, you can enter the Pre-Sessional Masters Entry Programme (PSMEP) as long as you meet the other prerequisites for the Pre-sessional MEP. Starting with the Pre-sessional MEP will assist you in adjusting to teaching styles in the UK and help your English proficiency reach an acceptable level for the MBA.
