V1 Award (formerly D34)

Code: VBV1

Conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process

This unit sets out standards for monitoring assessment within an approved centre, whether single or multi-site.

The role includes offering advice and support to centres. It involves ensuring training needs are met and that assessment practice is in line with the national standards and meets the requirements of awarding bodies.

You are also responsible for collating records and for monitoring the flow of information between assessors and to the awarding body. You don't have to train assessors directly. Your responsibility is to ensure assessor training is provided if required. However, if you analyse assessors' training needs and train them directly, you can work towards other relevant units that cover training needs analysis, and planning and delivering learning opportunities.

To be eligible you must:

  • You need to have access to real NVQ candidates, either through your centre or in your own workplace.
  • Must verify work in an area of competence that you have. For example to verify management you must have competence in that area and at that level.
