NHS Care Awards Presentation

The NHS Vocational Awards presentation took place at North Herts and Stevenage PCT for 22 learners who have completed their A1, Admin and Customer Service NVQs as part of the North Herts NHS staff development programme.

Care Awards were formally presented to the Learners by the NHS Training and Development Manager. CTL were represented by Hilary Vogler (VLC Centre Manager), Nigel Hall (Director of Studies) and Alec Stephenson (Assessor).

Launch of 2006/07 Academic Prospectus

Course Prospectus 2006/2007CTL launches its new 2006/07 Prospectus which includes 10 new programmes and three new degrees in partnership with UWL.

Nigel Hall, Director of Studies announced that:

"The new Prospectus reflects the focus on quality degree programmes or courses that follow pathways leading to a UK degree."

The new brochure contains all the necessary information for a student to select and apply for a course. It will be followed by a new website later in the year. Click here to download the new prospectus.

New University Partnership

New University Partnership

The College of Technology London and the University of Wales Lampeter (UWL) sign a partnership agreement to deliver BA (Hons) Business Management degree programmes at the CTL campus in London.

Says the Head of MIT at UWL, Conny Matera-Rogers,

"We are confident that this new partnership will lead to a long collaborative relationship with CTL and I feel that both partners can learn from each other to provide innovative quality programmes".

The University of Wales Lampeter is the third-oldest University in England and Wales and is part of the federal University of Wales. UWL is ranked second in Wales in Business and Information Technology (Guardian League University Guide 2006). For more information on UWL, please visit our partnership page, here.

CTL Inspected by the BAC

As part of its ongoing commitment to quality, CTL invited the British Accreditation Council (BAC) to inspect the quality of it's provision. As part of the inspection process the BAC examined the following five key areas:

  • Premises and Health and Safety
  • Administration and Staffing
  • Management of Quality
  • Student Welfare
  • Teaching and Learning: Delivery and Resources

The BAC's Chief Inspector Ron Tuck commented in his report to CTL that:

"? the College is a serious learning institution with an excellent commitment to quality of teaching and facilities".
