Department of English Language Studies

teaching Academic and IELTS English Courses

The focus of the Department of English Language is to prepare students for further study in computing and business.

English courses can be taken independently or as part of a degree programme. If your course includes an Academic English component you will be required to reach an IELTS score of 5.5 to enter a Degree Foundation, 6.0 for an undergraduate degree, or 6.5 for a post graduate degree.

Students from non-English speaking countries with limited or intermediate levels of English often complete between one and 3 terms of Academic English prior to starting their degree programme.
