The BA (Hons) in Business Information Technology (BIT) will provide you with the necessary technical skills, knowledge and theory across a wide range of IT and Business-related areas.
Graduates will be able to formulate practical, IT-based solutions to the sort of business problems faced by modern organisations. The course will emphasise the development of interpersonal and people skills and the effectiveness of teamwork. There is a constant demand from employers for graduates who understand the synergies between business and IT, and crucially, who have the communication skills to work effectively in an organisation.
The BIT degree seeks to distinguish itself from traditional computer science degree programmes placing more emplasis on developing project management, business analysis and core IT skills which will prepare the graduate for further specialisation at postgraduate level or employment.
Course Prerequisites
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Either a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 213, OR
English is the student's first language, OR
English is the medium of instruction for the last 2 years of education. - Either passes in two subjects at GCE 'A' Level, OR
Equivalent passes in own country's educational system, OR
Degree Foundation for BA (Hons) Business Information Technology.
Course Syllabus
Students must take a total of 120 credits for the programme. An IT project and dissertation worth 20 credits each is undertaken from Term 5 to 6.
